SHORT FILM & ALUMNAE ENTRY PACKS FOR 2010

Dear Principal or Head of High School Film Departments

What a success the last 5 years have been, with many schools walking away with some great prizes and awards.

All category winners, 1st, 2nd and 3rd will have a chance to receive work experience from various experts in the film industry. These opportunities are incredible for the young filmmakers of Australia. All you needed to do was create a short film for up to (10 minutes in duration or more for Alumnae entries) in any genre, and get to work with lights, video camera and plenty of action.

Students will see their films on the big screen and admire the entries of other schools.

Winners will be awarded over 150 awards, certificates and trophies, and will be acknowledged at our glamorous, Gala event on the 23rd of October(TBC). Students even have the opportunity, whilst producing their films to enter and win in many categories.

Trophies and awards given for: -Year 12 Alumnae Best Film Award, Best Actors/Actress, Best Producer/Director, Script Writer, Costume Design, Make Up and Editing, Cinematography, Musical score, Best Poster Design, Best Sound, Best Doco, Best Animation, Best Finn Cragg Multimedia Post Production Catagory, Best abstract, and many other categories. There is an Encouragement Award, many Honors and Honorable Mentions .

Students also can earn extra credit points for their film subject, enjoy an enlightening extra curricula activity, & learn the importance of teamwork, and even take up the challenge for the purposes of a moment of fame and glory!

Certificates will be given to all students that participated in the 2010 projects, and a perpetual trophy for the winning school.

Moviemania is here to encourage the young film makers of not onlyAustralia but Globally to give it a go and make filming history.
