Congratulations to the many schools that competed in the Moviemania High School Short Film Awards 2009. Well done you should be very proud of your achievement, the judges are having a very difficult time choosing winners. To the 2010 entries good luck and remember you are the future filmmakers of Australia or even the world. Make sure to enjoy yourselves while making your films, and remember it takes a team to make a film complete. I wish you all good luck and success in your entries. And I hope you can all be present at the Gala Night Award Ceremony which will be held on the 23rd of October 2010 (tbc) You can book your tickets for the Awards night only $25per student/adult, for every 10 tickets booked you can have one ticket FREE. Students who have completed their films in the year 2009 also had a chance to submit their films in the Alumnae Catagory for 2010. Don't forget to check out the submission packs, all the information has been included in the packs. 2010 Awards Many schools from all over AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND had e-mailed me with an interest in the Awards for 2010 . Even though they wanted to enter some schools found that they could not complete their films in the required time. Some of the schools looking at entering the Moviemania awards have come from all over Australia and beyond but here are some that will be competing this year they are from:- Mackay, Bundaberg, Townsville, Toowoomba, Southport, Caboolture, Thuringawa, Maroochydore, Mugerumbah, Woombye, Noosa, Pimlico, Nambour, Alice Springs, Bowen, Western Australia, Melbourne, Sydney and many schools within Brisbane and New Zealand. It is all too exciting, and I know the schools will enjoy the opportunity of seeing their films on the big screen and reading the reports from the Experts in the film industry, and lets not forget the chance they have to win some amazing prizes and work experience opportunities. Award night is a night like the Academy Awards and has all the glamour and glitz and even the red carpet for our future filmmakers and stars.
